Power Rangers Auditions looking for Unknown Actors || Over the weekend, Power Rangers director Dean Israelite revealed that the script for his highly-anticipated reboot is “mature but playful,” offering a “fun take on the material.”
With the script and the director now in place, it isn’t known when casting may begin, but today we have an unconfirmed report that reveals the producers are seeking unknown actors to play the Power Rangers. Lionsgate is also seeking actors in their late teens for these coveted roles.Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller (X-Men: First Class and Thor) wrote the script for the Power Rangers, although we have not heard any concrete details about the story. Of course, even though the main characters will be played by teenagers, it’s possible that the original Power Rangers such as Jason David Frank could be back in different roles, but we don’t know if there are plans to bring back the original stars.Lionsgate has already set Power Rangers for release on January 13, 2017, although we don’t know quite yet when production may begin. The original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers TV series is based on the Japanese Super Sentai Series, following a team of five high school students who are selected by Zordon to battle evil. Using martial arts, special weapons, and gigantic robots called “Zords”, they protect their city Angel Grove from monsters and witches.
